Our dedicated and experienced staff are the backbone of the organisation. They are drawn from diverse backgrounds and come together to form multi-skilled project teams.
Many staff have worked at the Foundation for over 10 years, with a number employed for over 20 years. Our staff development program actively encourages staff to enhance their skills such as enrolling in higher degrees and attending courses.
Our research staff are supported by a dedicated and highly trained interviewing team of around 65. They are experienced in various data collection techniques including telephone and field research with both business and domestic respondents
Dr Wej Paradice, AM
Chief Executive
Dr W.E.J. Paradice, AM has extensive research experience in economic, business and social issues and manages the Foundation's external relationships and communications with stakeholders. His experience is broad: from papers on regional economic issues to tourism and recreation research. He held down dual roles as Director of Research and CEO for 17 years until the postitions were separated in 2003.
Simon Deeming
Director of Research
Simon, who joined the Foundation in November 2007, adds valuable new skills to the Foundation's economic research capability. Simon was previously employed at the listed property trust, Stockland, as National Research Manager of the Development Division. His experience includes extensive economic and real estate market research, specialising particularly in the residential market. He has over 13 years experience providing research and consultancy advice in the real estate sector.
Researchers
The research team are a multi-skilled group drawn from diverse backgrounds and with a range of qualifications. Staff are encouraged to undertake further study and training with a number of people currently studying towards a PhD.
The flexibility within the research team enables the HVRF to form expert project groups to undertake a range of projects and complex research questions.
IT & Research Support
The HVRF Information Technology and research support team provide an invaluable contribution to our research expertise. Highly experienced, the team is dedicated to providing high quality output for each research project. They contribute to CATI programming, online survey development and results analysis.
The telephone survey teams are experienced in various data collection techniques involving both business and domestic respondents. They undertake regular training and are subject to ongoing assessment and checking.
Household Travel Survey Project
The Household Travel Survey (HTS) is a large-scale face-to-face survey project conducted on behalf of the Bureau of Transport Statistics (NSW Transport). The HVRF has conducted this survey since its inception as a continuous survey in 1997.
Marketing
The HVRF marketing team manages the HVRF important external relations including our sponsorship program including 150 sponsors and donors. In addition they are responsible for conducting a range of functions, our publications and corporate material, media relations and the HVRF website.
Accounts & Organisational Support
The HVRF accounts and support team keep the organisation running providing invaluable support to the research, IT and marketing groups
